Halfway across town, James has just come across a photo book with pictures of his army buddies. His eye stops at one in particular: Lt. Johnathan Frost. He compares the picture to his memory of the boy.

James says, “Oh shit..."

James gets up and takes the picture with him. He leaves his house and knocks on Karla's door.

Karla says, “Oh, hello James. What can I help you with?"
James says, “Our little question has been answered. The one about the boy..."

Karla lets him in and as she sits down, James hands her the picture.

James says, “See the one guy at the top right corner?"
Karla says, “Yes. Who is he?"
James says, “Lt. Johnathan Frost."
Karla says, “Why are you showing me this?"
James says, “Look closer..."

Karla looks closer at the picture and her eyes widen.

Karla says, “Oh my dear. Looks like the young man."
James says, “I think that’s his father. I do remember hearing from his wife after I came home from Vietnam about that he had a son, called Nathan."
Karla says, “What happened to his father?"
James says, “Killed on the battlefield."

James then takes up a stance and a pose that tells Karla that he is either lying or holding something back.

Karla says, “James...what are you not telling me?"
James says, “I need to tell you something...but not right now...please let me go and find the words..."
Karla says, “Go ahead...but don't take too long."

A few hours later, Nathan is attempting to go to sleep. As he feels he is about to drift to sleep, a bird wakes him up. He opens his eyes and sees that its a crow.

Nathan says, “What the fu...?"

Nathan screams as harsh, powerful and beautiful memories attack Nathan. Of when their lives were ended too soon…

Nate and Emily have just finished their anniversary dinner, commemorating five years of being together as a couple. Nate grabs Emily's leather Jacket and suggests they should take a romantic walk. Emily smiles her agreement and they walk outside. Emily and Nate have lived at Ft. SanKinney, fortunately enough, by an old friend of Nate's that let them rent it out. They were reminiscing about last year when Emily heard sounds. As they waited a moment, Nate shrugged it off as nothing. Emily and Nathan kissed again then both of them heard the sound again. As they walked towards the sound and heard it again, this time louder, they walk towards a conspicuous warehouse.

Lt. Samantha Broun and Ben "Brick" DeLuca are arguing about something that Col. Mike Staley had told them to do.

"When are you going to put away the specimen, Ben?" says Sam.
Ben replies, "As soon as my 'coffee break' is over."

By an office about twenty feet from them are the rest of the group: Mike “Bad Boy" Dominguez, Scott Malloy, Peter Kovak, Lawrence Graham, Brian Thomas, Matt Luggin and Sean "Red" Hoffman, a group also otherwise known as "the Grinders". They’re waiting for Col. Staley to show up and view the results of Ben's finds. Ben then decides to go back to work. He looks at the table and sees no scissors.

Ben says, "Sam, where are the scissors?"
Sammy replies, "I don't know. Where did your lazy ass put them?”
Ben then responds, "Goddamn bitch."
Sammy says, "What did you call me?"

Ben says, "You heard what I said bitch." Sam throws a punch but Ben catches it.

Sammy then says, "Bitch this" and knees Ben in the nuts.

The Grinders are laughing at Ben's clutching his balls. Ben says, "What the hell you guys laughing at?"
Lawrence replies, “The Brick got his ass kicked."

Lawrence continues to laugh.

Ben says, "I'll deal with you later, Graham. I got some business to finish." Ben then turns around and gives Sammy a hard uppercut. Sammy falls to the floor with a bruised chin. Ben walks up to Sammy and says, "Didja learn your lesson yet, cunt?" Sammy then grabs Ben and throws him over her to the ground. They both do a kip. Sammy high kicks Ben to the chin and is about to lay him on his ass when they hear a voice.

"ATTENTION! What is all this ruckus about?"
Sammy responds, "Well, sir, Ben called me a bitch."
Ben then says, "Sir, she refused to help me find the scissors needed for this specimen."
The Col. says, "There's always scissors in the office, for Christ’s sake. Brian, go fetch Ben his scissors."

Brian responds, "Yes Sir." Brian retrieves the scissors and hands them to Ben. Ben looks at Col., Staley for approval.

Staley says, "You may start lieutenant." Ben takes the scissors and cuts down the chest of the specimen.

Nate and Emily have found out where the sounds came from. They peer in and see a gathering of people around a table. Emily says, "What are they up to?" Nate says, "I'm not sure but let's stick around for a bit."

Forty minutes later and Nate and Emily are still watching. Nate says, "Looks like they're finishing up. We better get going." Someone yells, "Hey you!

As Ben has finished working on the specimen, Brian takes the tools and brings them to the lavatory. As he is washing them, he notices shadows from nearby.

Brian says, "What the f...?" He walks along further and notices two people watching from a distance. Brian then yells, "Hey you!" Nate and Emily notice Brian and they run as fast as they can. By the time the Grinders notice, Nate and Emily are a good ten feet away. Mike "BadBoy" Dominguez hops into the jeep to catch them. Matt Luggin jumps into the jeep as Mike puts the gas to the bottom. As Mike gets closer to the couple, Matt jumps out and tackles Nate. Emily sees this and goes after Matt but Mike quickly gets out of the car and grabs her.

Nate says, "Get your hands off her, you asshole!"

Ben and the Grinders catch up and Ben says to Matt, "Shut that little fuck up." Matt grabs a gun thrown to him from Scott Malloy and pistol whips Nate on the head, rendering him unconscious.

He wakes up and feels something around his neck. Nathan looks around and not only sees the four that went after him but two other ones he had overheard. Col. Staley says, "Well, he was a witness to our "surgical operations" so he cannot tell anybody about this. Therefore, he must be dealt with accordingly. And I commend you, Ben for coming up with this idea."

Ben says, "No problem, Sir. That’s what I'm here for, creativeness." Nate looks to the side of him and sees that he and Emily have ropes around their necks. Emily has tears streaming down her cheeks. He then also notices that both of their hands are tied up behind their backs. He struggles but finds it useless to fight.

Col. Staley then says, "So then any last words, young man?"
He looks at Emily and says, "I'm sorry and I love you Emily."
Emily says, "I love you too."

Ben says, "Aww…how touching...he woves his wittle girlfriend". He laughs.

Col. Staley then says, "Before we deal them a fate reserved for the enemy, does anybody want to inflict pain or anything of the sort upon these "spies?"
Peter Kovak responds, "I have the perfect idea. We can cut off her head so that when they're in hell, he can’t see her face."
Col. Staley says, "Very morbid, but interesting idea."

Peter then runs off to grab the sword that he received for being in the honor guard.

Peter says, "May I have the honors, Sir?"

Staley says, "Continue." Peter stands in a stance then jumps up and with one swift slice, he cuts off her head. Her body and head fall to the floor with a sickening thud.

Nate says, "You sons of bitches!"
Col. Staley then looks at Nate and says, "I believe we will just let you die slowly, son. C'mon, gentlemen, let's get going."

Nate is left there to hang till his last breath. As he closes nearer to his last breath, memories of Emily being hung and of her head cut off, followed by the sound of the blade, echo on. So much pain and he will no longer see her anymore. The same memories keep haunting him until the ropes no longer let him breathe and then his sight fades to black and his soul is gone to the black void.

Savage memories rip through Nathan like a poker in someone's ass. He tries to get up but the pain does not allow him to do so. As he is able to somewhat stand, he thrusts ahead and breaks a big wooden box, falling in as it collapses. He gets right back up and punches the side of a building repeatedly, imagining as if the wall were the Grinders. Nathan lets out an unearthly scream and repeatedly kicks the building, hoping the pain will go away. He throws his body against the wall, shaking lose some of the old bricks. As he does that one more time, he falls down on the ground sobbing.

Nathan mutters under his breath, “...Emily..."

As a new kind of pain has energized him, Nathan sees the dirty razor he remembered from before and gets up. As he picks it up, it appears to have aged but the edge is still there. Nathan scurries around in Nona's spot for her mirror and finds it. He holds it up and cuts away. After a few minutes, he puts the blade down and grabs a piece of paper and a pencil. He writes something on it, then places it on her makeshift bed. The Crow lands on his shoulders, and then as if the crow spoke to him, Nathan Frost leaves...

Andrew and Nona come back from looking around to see Nathan gone and a note in his place. Nona picks up the note and reads it:

I'm sorry but I have unfinished business

Nona hands the letter to Andrew, and he reads it. Nona looks back at him with a questionable look.

Andrew says, “You ok Nona?"
Nona says, “Yea…"
Andrew says, “If you want to talk about something..."
Nona says, “I... Just need time..."
Andrew says, “Ok. In the meantime, I'm going to check up on something. I'll talk to you later."

She just nods. As Nona contemplates what to do now, the Grinders are encountering a ghost from their past.
